20 Reasons To Believe Best Robot Vacuum That Mops Cannot Be Forgotten

The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops

Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning appliances. His focus is on mopping and robot vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are a great option for those looking to remove mopping from their to-do lists. They feature impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance, and they can even wash and refill their mopping pads for a hands-off clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robotic vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than the other options which makes it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar which, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, provides some of the best navigation and object avoidance capabilities I've seen in a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.

It's fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one motion. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt hair, pet hair, and droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help pull away debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop rotates at a high rate and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a little more than other robots. This is useful when getting into tight corners or along baseboards. Those same front arms can be employed to clean larger objects, such as broken toys or books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's easy to install and performs well however, this is something that you'll have to be aware of if you're buying this robot vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it an ideal option for homeowners looking for an extremely efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.

The device is equipped with an efficient cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the house and also identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and methodically. This will result in a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite fast.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach areas. They also have a stretchy side brush that can be extended to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and dry to remove odors and prevent buildup.

App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo allows you to alter the strength of suction, and choose between a back-and-forth or slightly more random patterns. You can also alter the number of passes it should make, which will determine the speed at which the device can traverse your home. You can also disable the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rugs.

The device is costly, but has many smart features. It is important to keep in mind, however, that the device incurs recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For instance, the brushroll will need to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pad needs to be replaced every three to six months.

This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high Amazon rating and comes with many physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with a power button which doubles as the 'Clean button' as well as a 'Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank, and wash and drys its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who wants a cleaner home without spending a lot of time on chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a excellent choice. Its powerful performance, smart navigation, and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean house with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It is able to perform mopping and vacuuming. The robot has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping system with microfiber pads that snap into and out of the way. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated, but they do mean you don't have to think about changing disposable bags or refueling the water tank.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its precise floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture, rugs, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of picking up pet hair. It was able to capture the majority of hair our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and even had some lovely jingles to let you know when it was starting or completing its task.

The app was too basic and you had to switch the modules each time you changed between vacuuming and mopping. The app doesn't have the capacity to contain multiple maps, which could be a pain when you live in a house with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for an intelligent robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our test, but it comes with some distinct features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni is most notable for its huge dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as an 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base comes with a few control buttons, which allow you to manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to turn off the child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately  budget robot vacuum  means that the X1 Omni could occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert in its application.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but the mopping pad isn't cleaned or dried between use. This can cause mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a big difference from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxes.
